Kingdom Come Food Pantry opened in the Fall of 2005 serving the needs of nine households. Within six months of its opening, the pantry began opening every Tuesday so that clients could come weekly to shop for their households. Over the years the need for the food pantry has grown, and the pantry has grown to meet that need. Today the pantry serves as many as 200 families on a weekly basis each Tuesday between the hours of 10 am - 6 pm.
From the very beginning, the board had a mission to run the pantry in the same manner that Jesus would; therefore, all that come to us hungry, are fed. An average of thirty pounds of food is given to each family per visit. Clients register upon arrival at Kingdom Come and then are assisted as they shop for their household. We even assist with carrying groceries out to your car!
The pantry has been generously supported by the congregations of area churches:
- Riverview Alliance Church
- Oconto Falls United Methodist Church
- St. Anthony Catholic Church
- St. Patrick Catholic Church
- Green Bay Community Church
- St. John's Lutheran Church
- Grace Lutheran Church
We are also supported by numerous local businesses, and private individuals. Over 100 volunteers work to keep the pantry operational.
